We both grew up in NYC. Tony spent summers on Long Island, while I spent summers visiting with family in Europe.
Tony began boating as a young child together with his grandfather on Eastern Long Island, NY. He learned to fish and captain boats as he grew up. We started boating together as soon as we met, when we were only 18 and 16 years old.
Through the years we have had a variety of boats to suit different times of our lives together. We have participated in many basic and advanced boating classes. For many years we cruised to destinations from Nantucket to Gulf Shores Alabama and the Bahamas with our two sons.
Our first season on Marco Island, we lived on the “First Light”, docked at the Marco Island Marina. While living aboard, we searched for and found our current home here on Marco Island. At the end of that season Tony captained the “First Light” to Beach Haven, NJ, where we enjoyed her for several more years as a summertime destination.
We now live here 99% of the time, so we decided to sell the “First Light”. Here on Marco Island, we currently have a smaller boat, wave runners and kayaks. When not boating you can find me (JoAnn) playing pickleball, while Tony enjoys the gym or long-distance biking. Together we enjoy cars, live music, cooking, biking, bocce ball, boating, fishing and time with our grown children.
One of our sons lives nearby in Naples and the other one continues to live in NJ and therefore is the main reason we continue to return there for short visits. We are excited to be a part of this club where we will continue to make new “boating” memories and great friends.
