Holly and I have been together for over fifty years. We have been married for the last forty-seven. We both grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri and we both attended very good college preparatory schools there. I went to Saint Louis Country Day, and Holly attended Mary Institute. These schools have since merged to become, get this, Mary Institute Saint Louis Country Day School. Not the most creative name! We both attended and graduated from excellent colleges in Denver, Colorado: Holly went to Temple Buell College (for the four years that it was not called Colorado Women’s College) and I went to Regis College (now University) and, after graduating, worked and skied there for an additional year. We moved back to Saint Louis where we both started our careers and our family: I worked in banking and Holly was an educator. We also got a start raising our children, two daughters there. Through work, we had an opportunity to move to and work in the Chicago area. We moved to Winnetka, IL and both of our children attended and graduated from New Trier High School. I worked in the loop and Holly taught at Crow Island School in Winnetka. We lived in that beautiful part of the world for twenty-four years prior to moving to equally beautiful Marco Island, Florida. Holly’s family also has, for years, had a lovely cottage on Kawaguesaga Lake in the Minocqua, Wisconsin area where we spend two or three months each Summer. We both love boating and have had a lot of time boating on fresh water. Salt water boating has a different set of challenges and we look forward to learning as much as we can through our activities with the Marco Bay Yacht Club and other resources such as the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. We look forward to visits from our children, their spouses and our grandchildren as often as possible. We have also been blessed with visitors from all over the world We look forward to enjoying all of the benefits of membership in the Marco Bay Yacht Club.
