The Fun Begins Again

Naples, Bonefish & Legacy Trip Report

On Thursday, October 16th, the first extended cruise of the Marco Bay Yacht Club season began with 3 boats heading for Naples Bay Resort.  Cookin’, My Turn and Sea Ya’ll were joined the following day by Camelot and Sweet Lips followed on Saturday by A-Blast.

Thursday evening we were joined by the Kernans (John had served as First Mate on Sea Ya’ll) and we all had a great dinner downtown at Bistro 821 where most of us took advantage of their Wine & Dine Dinner Menu.

On Friday the extended boaters were joined by day-boaters Mar-Gin, Too Many Wakes, Leg-A-Sea and Knot Home II as well as 40 some Land Yachters for a total of 54 club members that enjoyed a great lunch at Bonefish Grill.

Friday night the extended boaters dined on “Burgers and Beer” for $10 at Roys and on Saturday night the 12 extended boaters dined at Mangrove Café where everyone raved about their dinners.

Sunday morning found us at the Yacht Club in the marina enjoying their Sunday Brunch before 4 of the six extended boaters headed north for Legacy Marina while the Sandlins and Gelfands headed back to Marco.  Those of us headed to Legacy were joined there by Therapy III, Nauti Buoy, Sachmo and Too Many Wakes.

The highlights of our time at Legacy were Docktails at the marina, dinner at The Veranda, the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, donuts at Bennett’s and great times with great friends in a great marina.  It was nice to have the Brinkoetters drive in for our entire stay and to have the Kernans, Dotterweiches overnight, along with the Coffins who drove up for the dinner theater.

On Friday Therapy III, Nauti Buoy, Sachmo and Cookin’ joined Too Many Wakes at Pink Shell Marina for a two-night stay on our way back to Marco while Sea Ya’ll, A-Blast and Sweet Lips returned to Marco.

Too Many Wakes left Pink Shell on Saturday and Therapy III, Nauti Buoy, Cookin’ and Sachmo left for home Sunday morning and enjoyed beautiful, calm seas.
