A new restaurant on Marco Island called Mario’s was the setting for the New Members Party 2015. Cocktails were served around the bar area for Happy Hour, where everyone mingled and were able to meet some of the new members. The dining room was decorated with candles and the clubs colors. The dining room was full and comfortable for all our members. We all got to sit and enjoy each others company. There was a mixture of “new” and “old” members at each table.
Commodore Al Saunders welcomed everyone and introduced 10 of our new members. Each of the women received a beautiful bouquet of red roses. It was wonderful to hear the background of the new members and welcome them to our club. Welcome aboard Bruce and Connie Kane, Paul and Karen Oldenburg, Ronald and Jane Peterson, Francis and Maureen Arnieri, and Glenn and Kathy Lubeznik. We also welcome aboard the new members who were unable to attend the function due to prior commitments : James and Isolde Andrews, James and Nancy Bruno, Mark and Jane Daugherty, Bob and Linda Gagnon, John and Janine Holm, Donald and Gayle Kleindl, Kevin and Cindy LaVallee, and Randy and Andrea Peifer. New Members were seated with their sponsors. What a great year for memberships in the club. We welcome you and are looking forward to getting to know all of you at future functions. We wish you fair winds and calm seas!
Our Club Chaplain gave an inspirational invocation before dinner was served. The members enjoyed a buffet of Dinner rolls, House salad with assorted dressings, and the entrees: Chicken Marsala, Sole Francese, Meat Lasagna, Cheese Lasagna and mixed vegetables. The staff made sure the buffet dishes were hot and full. The men were definitely happy with the large portions served. The meal was followed by a delicious dessert of Key Lime Pie and coffee.
We all had a great time and we were happy to welcome the new members into our club. The “Fun Club”. We look forward to having them cruise with us and join us for the clubs activities.
