The Forty Third Marco Bay Yacht Club Change of Watch/ Commodores Ball was held January 24th at the Hideaway Beach Club. Ninety people attended the event. The women were dressed in their gowns and formal dresses and the men looked handsome in their tuxedos or club uniform. The tables were set in a blue and white theme with beautiful floral arrangements from Bella Florals by Theresa.  The evening started with a Receiving Line of the present and incoming Bridge.  Each lady attending was present a rose. This was followed by Happy Hour featuring hot hors d’oeuvres, a wonderful dinner, and once again a Bananas Foster dessert which everyone enjoyed. Alan Sandlin delivered the invocation……for which we are grateful.

Commodore Bob Boland thanked the Bridge, Directors and Chairpersons for their contributions to the club. Commodore Boland also introduced members of the Civil Air Patrol and the Marco Island Sail and Power Squadron.

Our new Commodore Frank Mulligan Jr. introduced the Bridge officers, Directors, and Chairpersons for 2017 stating it is the involvement of the members of the club that makes the club such a success. He encouraged everyone to participate in club activities and to volunteer to help on commitees. This is what makes our club the “Fun Club”. Commodore Mulligan also thanked Bob Boland and Lyn Bedell for all their hard work during the year, making it a year enjoyable for all!

Myles Loud provided hours of music for all to enjoy. Everyone was having a good time on the dance floor. People were still up dancing way past Marco Midnight! Hideaway Beach Club was gracious to let us stay and have a good time. Thank you all for making this Commodores Ball such a great success.
