Presentation of the Fleet was held Saturday January 28th under balmy sunny skies at the Esplanade Marina. Our Bridge was aboard “Tennessee Waltz” captained by Bob Herndon with his FM JoAnn. Our Past Commodores were aboard “My Turn” captained by Barry Gelfand with his FM Claudette. After the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance Frank Mulligan, Commodore welcomed everyone and introduced those aboard the Bridge boat and Past Commodores boat.

The Bridge boat had FM Commodorable Marianne Mulligan, V/C Rudi Landwaard & FM Dorothy, R/C Sally ORTH & FM Don, Chaplin Alan Sandlin & FM Linda, our indispensable Photographer Dan Lowell & FM Deb, and guests Syd Mellinger and Nancy Adams.

The P/C boat had P/C Bob Boland & FM Lyn Bedell, P/C Al Saunders & FM Linda, P/C Charlie Skillern & FM Paula, P/C Marcia and P/C Alex Orsolini, P/C Brent Cook & FM Susan, and P/C Bill Horton & FM Cea aboard.

Following a short history of the MBYC read by Vice Commodore Rudi Landwaard our Chaplin Alan Sandlin conducted our annual Memorial Service for our recently deceased members. We had special guests Syd Mellinger and her daughter Nancy Adams on board to Memorialize their husband and father P/C Jim Mellinger. Other recently deceased members were Pat Kenworthy, Jean Matthews, Bill Walsh, Lynn Smith, P/C Paul Meyers, John Rothschild, and all other previously deceased members of MBYC. A symbolic rose was placed for each.

Mike Brown, our Fleet Captain confirmed that “the Fleet” was ready for review. Although seven of our 100 member’s boats were originally signed up to attend this annual ceremony only two boats actually showed up for this annual tradition. Sonatella, captained by Chuck Hubscher and O Sea D, captained by Vern Graham proceeded past the Bridge and P/C boats. We had a large contingent of members lining the deck at the Esplanade Marina. We then proceeded to have lunch at CJ’s on the Bay.

A good time, with great fellowship was had by the over 60 members in attendance. Our Fun Fund Raising Committee again raised $ 300- for our Club’s contribution fund.
