Welcome Back Party

    Da Vinci’s Ristorante was the setting for the Marco Bay Yacht Club Welcome Back Party on November 1st, 2017. Approximately 69 members greeted each other while enjoying happy hour cocktails in our private room. All were glad to be back on our island paradise and to start a new season with “The Fun Club”. After mingling with old and new friends we were asked to sit so the fun could begin. Commodore Frank Mulligan welcomed everyone and called Betty Barter and Marcia Orsolini up to the microphone so they could begin a game of “Heads and Tails”. This is a fundraiser to obtain monies for the three Marco Island Organizations we help fund: The Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Power Squadron, and the Civil Air Patrol. Everyone joined in on the fun and Betty and Marcia were able to collect $375 for our club. Dr. Paul Krueger was the winner of the evening and went home with a wonderful prize.

    As the members remained seated, Commodore Frank Mulligan directed the Annual Meeting and introduced the Past Commodores, the members retiring from the board, read the report of the nominating committee, and held the elections (see Commodore’s report in this Baylines for results).

    After the meeting the staff served Bruschetta platters to each table. This was followed by a dinner salad and choice of entrée, either Lasagna, Polo Parmigiana, or Faroe Islands Salmon. This was followed by dessert choices of tiramisu or cannoli. The dinner portions were large and I think most people took home leftovers for another night. The staff was very attentive and a great night was had by all!
