Legacy – ‘Tween Waters Cruise

On Friday, March 15th six boats including Cookin’ (Brent & Susan Cook), Nauti Buoy (Dave & Mary Ellen Mount), Therapy III (Mike & Cindy Brown), Karine (Bob & Sandy LaMontagne) and O Sea D (Vern & Ann Graham) and Divergent (Bill Schroeder) arrived at Legacy Harbour Marina in Ft Myers.

That evening 10 of us attended the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater for a buffet dinner and their production of Guys and Dolls. We had a great time socializing at dinner and enjoyed the play. It was also another opportunity to use our Uber apps!

The following day, Saturday, the Browns were joined by 2 of their daughters, Tracy and Robyn. It’s always fun to have the Brown girls along because they add youth and vitality to the group and, just like Dave Mount…..NOT, a great ability to accomplish almost anything on their smart phones.

Other highlights included, lunch at Joe’s Crab Shack, dinner at The Veranda, dinner at Firestone, breakfast at First Watch and several shopping outings downtown as well as late night runs to Starbucks.

We were scheduled to depart Legacy for Tween Waters on Tuesday but a poor weather forecast, with rain and rougher seas, forced Bill Schroeder home a day early on Monday and kept the rest of us at Legacy an extra day until Wednesday.

Finally on Wednesday morning Cookin’, Nauti Buoy, Karine and O Sea D departed for the one hour ride to Tween Waters and Therapy III departed for home.

Approaching Tween Waters, a missing channel marker, and shallow water, found Cookin’ and Nauti Buoy kicking up some sand from the bottom while O Sea D and Karine watched us and decided a path closer to the “Greens” was deeper water. A quick dive under Nauti Buoy showed all the bottom did was polish the props.

Tween Waters have improved their docks with new decking and finger piers so those were a nice improvement. One thing that had not changed was the great burgers poolside which a number of us enjoyed.

Our three day stay turned into two days when we had to layover at Legacy but we all enjoyed our time there and had a great farewell dinner at the new The Canoe and The Kayak restaurant that is water-side near the docks.****Three out of four of us cruised home on Friday the 22nd while Vern and Ann stayed at Tween an extra day.
