Six of the 9 boats (My Turn, Cookin’ ,Therapy, Divergent, My Cherie and Karine) decided to depart for South Seas a day early on Sunday 1/13 due to better sea conditions. The decision paid off with 1 foot seas all the way to South Seas on the outside. We were joined by 0 Sea D, Nauti Buoy and No Name a few days later. We took our time getting the boats “Ship Shape” and prepared to do what we do best which is eating out.
On Tuesday, we did our own thing, such as walk on the beach, play cards and read. That evening we had 15 people for dinner where we enjoyed the food and each other’s company in the private room at the Green Flash Restaurant.
Wednesday the Zimmerman’ s joined us whereby, Kris announced that if she had her way she would have pulled in halfway there and sold the boat as the winds and seas were no fun in their open boat.
Thursday for lunch a number of brave souls went on No Name (an open boat) to Cabbage Key for lunch and that night for dinner at Doc Ford’s for a fun day.
Friday we departed for Boca Grande Marina. We were joined by land yachters, Rudi and Dorothy Landwaard. We all gathered that evening at Miller’s Dockside for dinner and celebrated Brent’ s birthday with a huge .sheet-cake baked by Susan.
Saturday we jumped on our golf carts to enjoy the island and have lunch at South Beach. That evening we had a great dinner in The Eagle Grille private room. We had a couple boats leave early and then on Monday evening everyone enjoyed a fabulous meal at Temptations.
As usual, we all had a great time B. S’ing with our friends, eating and carousing. We hope to encourage more boats and guests to join us on future cruises.
