The 2018 Marco Bay Yacht Club Welcome Back Party was held on Wednesday, November 7th at Da Vinci’s Restaurant. Sixty eight people gathered together to Welcome Back those members that had been away for the summer months.
As we enjoyed Happy Hour a 50/50 raffle was held and we raised $180.00 to donate to the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Civil Air Patrol. Carolyn Cachianes and Nanette did a great job of selling the tickets.
After we were seated Commodore Rudi Landwaard welcomed everyone and called MBYC’s Annual Meeting to order. The slate of new board members were announced and voted on. ( See Commodore’s Repost in Baylines for results) Rudi also introduced three couples as new members, Bill and Kim Hillyer, Mark and Susan Setter and Doug and Barbara Hess.
After the meeting a delicious dinner was served mixed with great conversation and comradery. We enjoyed Bruschetta platters, a salad, lasagna, polo parmigiana, or Faroe Island salmon and, of course, a sweet Italian dessert. The servers and entire staff at Da Vinci’s were great, very attentive and friendly.
It was such a nice evening. It was a perfect way to kick off a new season.
